Two decades in the game.

Joey and Nelson founded Mentor Edge Group to put the player's best interest at the center of representation. That purpose is backed by decades spent developing athletes: seeing how players grow, how trust is built, how decisions are made, and how the game changes around each level. Mentor Edge brings that experience to the player's side, with the care of mentors and the judgment of people who know the game deeply.

From grassroots to life after the game.

  1. Grassroots

    Age 13 to 15

    Early relationships often begin in the gym, before representation is even a conversation. The priority is development, trust, and understanding the player beyond a profile.

  2. High school

    Age 15 to 18

    The choices start to narrow. Exposure, offers, visits, eligibility, and roster fit begin turning potential into opportunity, with academics and family planning moving alongside.

  3. College

    College years

    Some players stay one year, some stay four, and some paths shift more than once. Portal decisions, NIL, academics, and development have to stay connected to the long-term plan.

  4. Pro opportunities

    Path dependent

    Professional conversations can come early for some players and later for others. Contracts, partnerships, finances, and preparation need experienced judgment when the opportunity is real.

  5. The life after

    Planned early

    Planning beyond playing starts before the game decides the timing. Health, education, finances, identity, and next steps need attention while the player still has room to choose.
