Who we are
Mentor Edge Group is a basketball representation and mentorship practice based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. In this policy, Mentor Edge Group is referred to as we, us, or our.
We are responsible for the personal information collected through this site. Questions can go to the person responsible for the protection of personal information, reachable at the address in the contact section below.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to this website only. It does not cover the personal information we hold about the players and families we work with in the course of representation and mentorship. That information is described in the Client Privacy Notice and governed by the agreement you sign with us.
Information we collect
When you reach out through this site, we collect what you choose to send us:
- Your name and email address, your phone number if you add it, and the message itself, sent through the inquiry form or by email.
- Basic technical information your browser sends, such as device type, browser, and approximate region, used to keep the site secure and working.
We do not ask for sensitive information through this website, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.
How we use your information
We use the information you send to reply to you, to understand what a player or family is asking for, and to route the message to Joey or Nelson directly. We use technical information to keep the site secure, working, and reasonably understood.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it or rent it.
Cookies and analytics
This site is built to stay light. It does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking for marketing.
If we add basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used, we will limit what is collected and update this policy. You can control cookies through your browser settings at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep the messages you send only as long as we need them to respond and for a reasonable period afterward, then we delete them. Technical logs are kept for a short time for security and then cleared.
Your rights
Under Quebec and Canadian privacy law, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent, ask us to delete it, or ask for a copy in a portable form. To make a request, email us at the address below and we will respond within the time the law allows.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can contact the Commission d'acces a l'information du Quebec, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Young players
Because we work with young athletes, we take care with the information of players who are minors. This website is not directed at young children, and a player under the age of majority should reach out together with a parent or guardian. How we handle a young player's information once we are working together is set out in the Client Privacy Notice.
Keeping information secure
We use reasonable measures to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, but if a confidentiality incident creates a risk of serious harm, we will act on it and notify those affected and the authorities where the law requires.
Links to other sites
This site may link to other sites, such as a school, a league, or a player's own pages. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of sites we do not run. Their policies apply when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on this page.
